footie prediction league table-help required please

I use a sheet I've created for a footie prediction comp(this is very basic ,simple sum feature to calculate total scores-I'm a novice at this !!)

I input the weekly scores in Columns L to BA ,and the SUM feature in column I gives the total score for each person

I need the copy of my main sheet attached ,amended ,so that when I type in the new weekly scores,it does the following, automatically,:

Sorts players into total points order highest to lowest (it totals the points already)
Inserts league position for each player
Inserts movement icon (up,down,no change) for each player ,compared to the previous weeks position

I currently do this manually which is a pain

Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

    Cheers Bruce !!

I inserted a validation for column B, so you can choose witch arrow to place and filter buttons to classify the table.

For league position you need to be more specific how am I supposed to do it.
For the arrows to be automatic where do I compare data?

Re: footie prediction league table-help required please

    Thanks for this

Columns L to BA are the weekly points for each player

So next week I will type in the scores for each player in column AH

Column I, is the total for each player so far
So league position for each player will be determined by column I,once I've typed the week scores in

Don't worry about the automatic arrows...what you've done is great,I can easily change them...thanks

Can you change the arrows to the colours GREEN/RED/GREY please ?

It would be interesting if you inform your version of Excel so that I can provide the correct answer.

The solution I'm giving to you is mostly for Excel 365.

Column B is with your arrows formatted to change color according to the formula bellows:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Column K there is another set of arrows that you could use from Conditional Format, it will follow the result of the formula bellow:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Column D automatically bring the last result from your matrix:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Column A automatically form a rank, this rank follow Excel formula rule for rank:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

This is great ,thanks for this

    Version365 2312

Can you change it ,so it sorts players into points order?

The filter doesn't appear to work(unless I'm doing something silly!)

The easiest way to sort everything is to extend the filter from A to BA as I did in the file attached.
