    Skipping blank cells

    Hi

I'm a noob when it comes to excel and need some help

I need a formula that skips blanks and return the first value in a range of numbers

I would like A2 to show the value in D1 and so on

I've been playing around with indirect and aggregate but it doesn't seems to be working

    Re: Skipping blank cells

    Thank you
But then I would like B2 to show to value of E1
The sum of row 1 and row 2 should be the same

If you want that, you should have mentioned it in the OP.

Fast answers need visual help. Please read the yellow banner at the top of this page on how to attach a file and a mocked up solution.

    Re: Skipping blank cells

    Try, A2=INDEX(1:1,MATCH(TRUE,1:1<>"",0)+COLUMNS($A1:A1)-1), copy across.

    Re: Skipping blank cells

Are you really using Excel 2016 or something newer?

Are the real values in the real data numbers or text?

    Re: Skipping blank cells

My original solution was for dragging down.

    For dragging down:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

    For dragging across:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
