    single and double quotes

    I have a Reuters Data connection in Excel and the format for getting the data is the following:

    in a cell, I type:
    =BDDE|TKR!'\\<DEFAULT>\AMED/LS'
    exactly like that to get the current price for the ticker AMED.

    I want to be able to replace AMED above with a cell reference, but I cant figure out how becasue of the single quotes. any ideas?

    thanks

    Maybe =INDIRECT("BDDE|TKR!'\\<DEFAULT>\" & A1 & "/LS'"). I have no way to test it.

    no that didnt work. I got a #REF error. but the inside of the indirect evaluated correctly (without the = sign). i clicked calculation steps and it shows this right ebfore the error:

    =INDIRECT("BDDE|TKR!'\\<DEFAULT>\AMED/LS'")

    I tried adding an "=" right before the BBDE and that didnt work either
