How to show a number of most recent entries

Hi all,

I'm looking to do the following:

I'm keeping track of statistics over a period of time and want to have a separate area that shows the five (or however many) most recent stats. In other words, there might be 40-50 dates and lines of statistics that go with them, and on another page, I'd like the "five most recent" which automatically updates as the lines are filled in over time.

Is this possible with functions?

Why not just sort the list descending by date?

Let me try to explain more thoroughly what I'm trying to do... the five most recent lines will be linked to a word document.... so in order to get these to update automatically, I need some way to pull the five most recent and have them in a different sheet I can link.

Does this make sense?

If you copy the top five rows of the table and paste it as a link in a Word doc, then add some new data to the table in Excel, sort it so the newest stuff is on top, and update the link in the Word doc, you'll see the newest stuff.
