Re: Moving data depending on input

Is this a MOVE with a macro, or a copy with worksheet functions?

If it's a MOVE, are we moving with formulas, or removing formulas during the move? What's supposed to happen in the original cells B:E?

Re: Moving data depending on input

thank you for such a quick responce originali it not just moving it´s like if depending on what did I input in Transfercode what in fact is in another sheet
(say it call Cargo)but using info from this one by entering letters from Code (A2 to A16) and use data from that line. for example if you enter letter C in transfer code column (say to J12) it has to move data from line 4 like B4 pallet moves to cargo pallet F12, C4 gross to cargo gross G12 and so on
o ja it always change data in original sells b:e

Re: Moving data depending on input

data changes frequently, like one group make input 2 time a day in B2 to E16, one thing what dos not change is letters from a to s, so another group in another department need info from their input but they only can enter letters from a to s (its to pick up correct weigth and number of pallet), so when whey input for example L or D i need to provide data from adequete letter what in row12(L) or row5(D) in any row depending on input(meaning letters from A to S)

Perhaps this variation on my original macro suggestion. This will transfer data over to the columns F:I when you put a value in column J.

Re: Moving data depending on input

I keep thinking I have figured out what you're trying to say, but no so? Since something is clearly getting lost in the translation, can you provide better BEFORE/AFTER results? This means you may have to create completely separate sheets for BEFORE/AFTER so I can see everything that changes as you make each entry.

If you have to mockup 3 or 4 separate AFTER sheets showing what should happen as each entry is made, try that.

Re: Moving data depending on input

That's a much larger undertaking codewise. You shouldn't leave out critical details like "we're moving data from one workbook to another" and then post examples of moving data a few columns instead. Not the same thing at all.

Perhaps time to start over will all details listed accurately.

Re: Moving data depending on input

OK let start it over so let say Group1 open file for a first time in a morning so he looks like Book1 clean and nothing on sheet exept form.
next they input some numbers in sheet1 like in Book2
after that Group2 makes input a position (POS) on a sheet1 like in Book3
now begins interesting part, after that it has to appear on the sheet2 on plases like on Book4 if that can help? I just hope it not some thin really terreble with that, but i try to use your suggestions and it work but not like it has to.thank for all your help

Re: Moving data depending on input

Almost forgot it now don´t have to be move between workbooks it have to be in one file like this one so it wont be a cross moving between work books or locations, so it only moves betweet this two sheets inside this file

Re: Moving data depending on input

    what exacly is not clear?
    On a same file sheet1:
    step1: data in rows(black letters step1):
    A8 to A22(pallet number)
    D8 to D22(gross weight)
    G8 to G22 (dest)
    H8 to H22(remarks)

step2:depending on what will be insert in F collumn (pos)(red letters step2) from F8 to F22 (pos)(can be only A-1, B-2, C-3,...S-15 in grey plade on the sheet2)

    step3 copy to sheet2 (blue letters step3)
like for row 8 with pallet num A8 need to be copied to C19 on sheet2, gross weight D8 to C20 on sheet2,
dest G8 to C21 and remarks H8 to C22 on sheet 2 becose we input in pos K-10) sorry I make some comments on book4 maybe it clear things out
