Formula for percentages / negative numbers

I'm working on a fillable form in Excel 2007. I am using the function to find percent of change... the problem is - if the current figure is lower than the previous, then the % of change should be a negative number, right? I can't figure out how to do that in the formula and it's not offered in the numbering portion of the cell formatting. Can you help?

    Isn't it a case of

    =(Current-Prior)/Prior
