If i have 15 in a single cell, is there a formula or is it possible to make the 1 subtract itself from the 5 to give 4 in a separate cell? I found a formula that allows the addition of two digits in a single cell, but can not find anything on subtraction anywhere.

hi greenfox74, might need more examples if it's not this simple:
=RIGHT(A1,1)-LEFT(A1,1)
or to be safe:
=RIGHT(A1,1)+0-LEFT(A1,1)+0

I mean fast now. That was exactly what i was needing. You even threw in the addition formula to. I see these simpler formulas and can't figure out why my brain can't come up with what i am looking for. Maybe i am adding more to them than i need to. Or not enough. I am getting better though.
