    Calculate hours a person is scheduled to work.

    Sheet is set up with Sat - Fri at the top. Under that (B3 & C3) have the shift start time and shift end time. In b4 is the employee selected from a drop down box. An employee has multiple shifts throughout the week. What I am trying to do is find each shift a person is scheuled for and then look at the shift start and end time to determin the total hours a person is scheduled for that week. Will provide copy on request.

    Im actually using Open Office. I had to resave as excel so I could attach.

    Hi there.

    From what I've done with mine is to format the cell with the total hours to Custom, Time, [h]:mm
    To calculate hours, a simple =(C3-B3)+(E3-D3)+(G3-F3)+(I3-H3)+(K3-J3)+(M3-L3)+(O3-N3)

    There's probably an easier method than mine, but mine works decently.

    This would work if people were scheduled same shift same day eevry week. But schedule changes from week to week as do the hours

    im figuring thst countif combined with a lookup function will find each occuarence of the name and use that reference to get location of the time above them to calculate hours
