Using VLOOKUP and CONCATENATE within an IFERROR formula

    Hi,

    I have the following code within cell E3 on a 'totals' worksheet;
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    ...basically,
E1 is either blank or contains a week number (eg: Week 3) and there is a worksheet called Week 3
    C3 contains a name

If E1 is empty : E3 remains empty
If E1 contains 'Week 3' : Lookup name within C3 on worksheet C3 and get data from cell 50

However, this is not working - I am getting 0 as the 'IFERROR' function is being used.

    Please help.

    Thank you.

hi mowens74, uploading a sample Excel file in the thread will enable us to help you better. to upload, press "Go Advanced" beside the "Post Quick Reply" button & click on the paperclip icon
ideally, it should contain your desired results

if you want to return the column in AZ, it should be 51, not 50. not sure if that's the problem. let us take a look at your sample file

    Benishiryo,

Thanks for the reply, I wasn't permitted to attach the actual workbook so was making a quick example up when it worked. Investigating it more I realised my mistake, the cell that I was looking up in the Vlookup wasn't exactly the same as the table in the lookup area....

    C3 was 'name'
Name in the lookup table had a space after it.

    All sorted.

    Thank you.
