    searching inside cell text

    hi all
    i am looking for your kind help in formula or vb code to do the following
    i have two columns one of them has an employees numbers every number in every cell and the other column has in every cell a text and date and one number from the numbers of the the other column >
    what i need is to but the beside every cell the employee number in third column ?
    i tried to make vlooup formula but it doesn't work because it can not search about numbers inside text >
    i tried to remove all text character and keep only digits but because cells has dates too i couldn't separate the employee numbers .

    your help is really appreciated

    I truly think we would need to see an example of your data, AND expected output for a few entries to understand what you want...see below to upload a sample workbook...
    A picture may be worth a thousand words, BUT, a sample Workbook is worth a thousand screenshots!
    -Add a File - click advanced (next to quick post), scroll to manage attachments, click, select add files, click select files, select file, click upload, when file shows up at bottom left, click done (bottom right), click submit
    -To mark thread Solved- go top of thread,click Thread Tools,click Mark as Solved

    How about this Array Formula (Cntrl+Shift+Enter, not just Enter) in C2:
    Formula: copy to clipboard 
    Please Login or Register  to view this content.

    Drag down

    Note- This will take the FIRST matching number in the list in column A, if there is no match, it returns "" (blank)

    sorry , once again there is another small problem .the formula search inside decimal numbers so it takes any matching inside the decimal number > so any way to neglect such numbers when searching process ?
