Dependent Lists - Limit selections based on used values

Hi, new user here asking for some help

I have created some depended lists using the technique mentioned in this tutorial as “Using Dynamic Lists”. I attached the file here for quick reference.

In my project I need to limit the possible values of the second list (Sheet: Data Entry – Column: Item) so when a value is used in the above rows it doesn’t show up in the list for the next ones.

So, if a a row with values Fruit - Oranges is inserted, when I will insert a new Fruit I don’t want to show up the “Oranges” value in the dropdown list. I want only the remaining ones. I thought it a s a way to avoid duplicates.

Is this possible without macros?
