Calculate years of service.

Hi,

How can I calculate the years of service for employees.

The problem is that when an employee starts between 01/01/2000 and 30/06/2000 then his salary will rise at 01/07/2001.
When he starts between 01/07/2000 and 31/12/200 then his salary will rise at 01/01/2002.
