    Hi guys,

please see the attached excel to understand my question.

I basically wants to know how to make excel calculate the average days in column "G" for the rows that fall in a specific period for two conditions.

Also, to give me how many rows it falls in the same period.

Cells that need the formula are highlighted in yell.

I have no idea how to do it.

I expect to see the avarege between 10 days and 25 days. I need to clarify that the PO date is the same as Doc. date

so basically excel need to find the rows that fall between the specific PO dates (Doc.Date) and also fall between the specific PR release date, then count the average for the numbers in column "G"

sorry, still not clear to me.

You have two tabs in the workbook you attached, now what you need in yellow cells (lets say B3,G3,I3,N3) and basis what criteria. I did not see you mentioned anything like 10 to 25 in the workbook?

Re: How to calculate the average for specific Time period

Thank you DILIPandey for your feedback. I'll try to explain better.

one tab has the data, and the other the calculations

I'll take April as an example. using the filters, I was able to count that there are 684 rows that meet the two time conditions"

    1) the PR Release date is between 5/1/2011 and 4/30/2012 (and)
    2) the Doc Date (PO date) is between 4/1/2012 and 4/30/2012

the average Mean value (column "G") for these 684 rows is 21 days.

I can figure out the numbers using the filter function but this will take a lot of time.

    Appreciate your efforts
