Numeration increasing by year

Good morning everyone.
First of all, I apologize for my imperfect English. I'm an Italian doctor and unfortunately I don't speak English well.
I am using Excel 2010. With the internal functions I'm able to derive the year from a date. I need to number the rows making reference to the year, so that the numbering recommences from 1 to each change of the year. Is there a way to do it?

Thanks for your attention.

Im not sure I understand what you are trying to do? maybe if you uploaded a sample, showing what you have and what you want?
To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Re: Numeration increasing by year

First of all, thank you for your reply. I wil try to post the example.

In the column "Number" I would like to find automatically 1/2013, 2/2013, or 1/2012, 2/2012 if the year is 2013 or 2012.

hi pgft. you mean like this in A2?
=COUNTIF(B$2:B2,B2)&"/"&B2

what you could show in your file next time is to manually key in what you want to see in column A. that will help us understand much better
=)

if required, change all my commas to semi-colons as according to your region settings

Thanks, if you have clicked on the * and added our rep.

Re: Numeration increasing by year

I understand the requst quite different..

=IF(OR(B2=2012;B2=2013);MONTH(C2)&" "&B2;"")

=IF(OR(B2=2012,B2=2013),MONTH(C2)&" "&B2,"")

The definition under your nickname is really appropriate. Your formula is just what I needed.

Thank you very much.
