Scan cells, locate a certain text and add the adjacent cell

First of all, a big standing ovation to all the contributors of this forum. I have been learning new things from the old posts whenever I've needed help with excel. Thank you.

I have been scanning the forum for hours and I can't seem to pinpoint a formula which will do the following trick for me. Please, have a look in the added excel file.

I need a formula in cell F2 that will scan E13:E54 to find cells that contain the same string as cell D2, and then add the value from the adjacent cell. In another words, I want to find out how many total hours have been staffed in the name of DR during the month of July.

Perfect, ok so I realized my mistake. I thought I had to use LEN and that SUMIF wouldn't do the job. Great, thank you so much!
