I am currently using a 3D reference to calculate the sum of a cell reference in all other sheets however, I would like to idiot proof this process, is there a formula that will sum all other sheets (apart from the summary sheet of course)?
Currently my formula looks like this =SUM('sheet 2:sheet 3'!A1)
if you add a blank worksheet at the start and end of your data sheets, and call them Start and End, then when you enter your calcs, you could just enter =sum('start:End'!C12) or whatever your references are. this way, you can add or remove sheets as needed, and it will add across all the sheets you need it to, and keep the totals as the data sheets change. make sure your "Master" sheet is before the Start sheet though

If I hide these sheets will it prevent people from adding pages before 'Start' and after 'End'?
Its not fool-proof, but if they cant see them and dont know they are there...they cant move them, can they?
Hrrrmmm. unfortunatly it won't be idiot proof. when adding a new sheet it will be after the end sheet even when hidden
