Membership Count by Year, From Start Date and End Date.

Sorry, I couldn't find this by searching the forums...

Data I have -

Member ID | Join Date | Termination Date |

Output I want

Fiscal Year | Total Active Members
1989 2,000
1990 2,120
1991 2,300
etc

I'm familiar with pivot tables, but need a formula or something that can easily identify active membership range from start date and end date by FISCAL year.
Fiscal year is what is getting me bogged down: Example - Joe's member join date is 8/20/1989 - but his memberhip year would really be 1990 because the fiscal year runs from Aug - July

- Many thanks in advance for your help!

Hi and welcome to the forum

hard to give an exact suggestion without seeing a sample of what you are working with, but take a look at the countifS() function and see if that gets you where you want to be?

If that doesnt work, please upload a (clean) sample file, showing what you are working with and a few samples of your expected outcome?
To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Thanks!

I've played around with countifs function, but I'm obviously doing something wrong because it keeps returning a 0 as the result.

I think this should fix my issue based on what I've read - I just need to figure out why the logic it's returning a null value.

If you still have a problem, upload a sample workbook and I will take a look at it for you

I've attached a sample file.

I've played around with the function, but I can't get the logic to work. It returns 0 which isn't correct. Thanks again for your help!
