Finding data based on two different criteria's

    Morning everyone,
I've been working on a workbook too track my employee's performance over multiple tasks. Each day the performances over each task will be entered on the Scorecard tab per task.

I am now working on a summary report which I've run into a few troubles with. I want to be able to bring up the results for each task based on the employee and the date.

If you need any additional info, please let me know.

    Much appreciated in advance.

    Regards
    Greg

Re: Finding data based on two different criteria's

    D9: =INDEX(Scorecard!$E$3:$ADR$24, MATCH($C$5, Scorecard!$B$3:$B$24, 0), MATCH(D$8, Scorecard!$E$2:$ADR$2, 0))
    D10: =INDEX(Scorecard!$E$3:$ADR$24, MATCH($C$5, Scorecard!$B$3:$B$24, 0)+1, MATCH(D$8, Scorecard!$E$2:$ADR$2, 0))

    Copy to the right.

Once you pull that function apart and understand it, duplicate this method for looking up X/Y coordinates in another table.

    =INDEX(tableofvalues, row, column)

here is a variation on what jerry offere4d, using named ranges and a helper to pull out the "category" - You can hide the helper, or set the text to white on white background

I only created named ranges for the 1st 2 tables (you need 2/table - 1 for the dats and 1 for the names)

Thanks Jerry. This formula works perfectly, and have managed to understand the formula and replicate the results with my other tables. Such a handy formula, will need to remember this in the future. Thank you for your help as well FDibbins.

    Regards
    Greg
