Format painting formula to adjacent cell, and want the result to be in the original format

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your help in the past (I've lurked).

I have written a SUMIF formula in a cell, D10, and I want to copy the formula to an adjacent cell, C10. When I copy the formula to C10, I want the result to be in the format that C10 was in before the format paint. Essentially, I want to lock certain aspects of the format in cell C10, but still copy the formula from D10. Please see below:

Please let me know if I can give more of a description! I am macro-friendly though not well-versed.

Try Paste Special>Formulas. That will copy the formulas but not the formats.
