    LOOKUP and IF Statement?

I've been struggling with a formula for a while now, and am ready to raise the white flag. Any thoughts on how I can correctly look up the proper rate in the table below?Sample Spreadsheet - RH.JPG

The idea is to key in the Vendor and Cost Center and use some kind of formula to look up the proper rate to pay.

Thanks so much for the help!

    Rob

    this should do it

if you post a sample sheet , rather than an image - we can update the sheet

    =IF(ISERROR(INDEX(D8:M11, MATCH(D1,$C$8:$C$11,0), MATCH( D2 ,$H$7:$M$7,0))),0,INDEX(D8:M11, INDEX(D8:M11, MATCH(D1,$C$8:$C$11,0), MATCH( D2 ,$H$7:$M$7,0)))

    You can try this (untested):

    =INDEX(H8:M11,MATCH(D1,C8:C11,0),MATCH(D2,H7:M7,0))

In the future, please post an actual workbook, not a picture!

Worked like a charm. Thanks so much for your help. I apologize for not attaching the xls. I contemplated it, but didn't know if folks worried about security issues with opening an attached actual Excel file. I'll know for next time.

    Thanks again!

    Glad to help.

Since you're relatively new to the forum, a good way to say thanks to those who have helped is by clicking on the small star at the lower-left corner of one of my posts.

    Have a great Thanksgiving!
