I can see a date for the rental, but how do we work out the length of the rental? I cannot see a return date.

    @ Bob:
    Thank you for your feedback..
Let's say the A is the rental and B or C is the customer..
the rental date started when there is a shipment from A to B or C..
The return date is a shipment from B or C to A..
in the sample file, I need K10:M13 filled with the data based between A and B..

But there are a number of rentals on the same day, and a number of returns. How do you know which applies to which. For instance, there are 5 from a-> on 04-Jan, 1 from B->A on 18-Jan, 1 06-Feb, 1 on 07 Feb, which is 5 out, 4 back, but then on 12-Feb another 5 go out. The next return after that could be from 04-Jan or 12-Feb, there is no way to know.

I think you should reorganise your data to something like

Re: formula to classify the quantity depend of its period

I'm sorry to not explaining it well enough..
for that condition, the longest rented must be the first to be returned..
when the longest A to B out, the second longest rental (A to B) must be the next to be returned..

Something's like "First in, First Out"..

    For example,
If "A to B on 4-Jan" is out, "A to B on 12-Feb (which is the next longer rent)" must be the next to be returned..
If "A to B on 12-Feb" is out, "A to B on 12-Mar" must be the next to be returned..
    And so on..

Re: formula to classify the quantity depend of its period

I will attach the sample file of how I've done it manually..
    Please take a look..
    Boook2.xlsx

I'm sorry if there was some unsystematically part (on H4:AT18 ranges)..
I have no more idea on how to make it more simple (or maybe there's someone who would at least help me make it more simple)..
But if there's any of you who would like to ask, I'd be glad to explain it..
So feel free to asking "what am I trying to do" here..

    Thank you..
