Need a 4th conditional format, Formula not right with =MAX and TEXT

Just had some good help off ETAF, but would like to know where i'm going wrong with this one.

I had this Conditional format formula which works:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

But now would like to add to this, I cant make another format, as this would be a fourth (I can only use 3)

As well as the formula, I would like to add in there also if D9 contains the text "Not Done".

    Tried this
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.
But cell goes clear when the text "Not Done" appears.

Bearing in Mind that the cell that contains the text "Not Done" is produced from a formula, not physically typed in, whether this makes a difference?

    Many Thanks.

I don't see why you are limited to 3 conditions if you are using XL2007, as your profile states.

Your formula is not consistent - the first part expects D9 to be a date (i.e. a number) and the second part expects it to be a text value. How can it be both, which is what the AND condition tests for? Perhaps you should change the AND to OR.

    Hope this helps.

In Excel >2003 you can use 64 rules in CF.

    Formula: copy to clipboard

You have a Date in D9. Don't you? So how can you have a date and a text"Not Done" in the same cell?

    Not possible.

Basically D9 will look for a date in a range, if there is no date (which would mean no audit done) It returns the text "not done)

I've never really used conditional formats, and used to some of the old rules in my head.

Thanks for clearing that up :/

    Thanks

Presumably PeteUKs suggestion to use OR clears it up. If so please select Thread Tools from the menu link above and mark this thread as SOLVED. Acknowledging the replies as appropriate. Thanks.

Re: Need a 4th conditional format, Formula not right with =MAX and TEXT

Thanks Pete, I get what you mean, Because it's 2 different things I need "OR"
But as the version i'm using lets me use more than the 3 I thought, I'll just stick with that.
But I will play around with your suggestion so I can remember that too

    Thanks guys.
