Find and extract data to new sheet or cell

I am looking through property records in every zip code and want to identify particular zip codes and extract it to one place. Can anyone shed some light? Thank you in advance.

Assuming your data has headers, you can add Filters under Data -> Filter.

Then in the filter for the Zip Code column hit select all to deselect all Zip Codes, and then just scroll down and select the ones you want visible and hit Okay.

Now copy all of the records and paste them somewhere else, the filtered out records will not be copied over.

Thank you. That does work. Is there a way to extract the data?

Extract how? Are you trying to move the records? Count them? Run various calculations on them?

Depending on your need, there are numerous options. A pretty hefty array can autopopulate the records in another tab if they match a certain zip code.

Or do you mean exporting the data into another format, such as CSV or link to from an Access database?

I want to identify the data by zip code and then move the row into another tab based on the zip codes. Doable?

With an array, this is doable with one Zip Code at a time.

With more than one, I'd recommend an Advanced Filter macro written in VB. Or you could do it by hand with a clever workaround by filtering from the paste to sheet, and then choosing what you need.

    See my attached:

    advfilter by hand.xlsx

To add other Zip Codes to the filter, simply list more in each cell below but be sure to include the full block in the criteria.

For example, you could add 122 to my example of Zips in D3, but then the Criteria Range would become A1:D3
