Using named ranges across different options

    Hi,

I would like to use named ranges to help explain the formula used to arrive at a solution. At the moment I have to click in the cell and then look at the cells used and look across to the title of the rows.

So for example, performance = D3*D4*D5*D6

    I would like, performance = vehicles*availabliity*utilisation*TKM.

That is easy if I have just 1 option. But what if I have 3 options? Naming each cell would be a way to do it but pretty laborious, is there a 'smart' way to use named ranges here?

    Thanks in advance.

    Just extend your thinking

Select D3 to F3 and, in the Name Box, call the range vehicles
Select D4 to F4 and, in the Name Box, call the range availabliity
Select D5 to F5 and, in the Name Box, call the range utilisation
Select D6 to F6 and, in the Name Box, call the range TKM

    Then, in D8 to F8, performance=

LOL well will you look at that! So Simple.

I actually did start to go down that line but noticed when I selected my named range in the formula it was highlighting all the cells in the range. I thought it was going to add all those up so I stopped and allowed myself to get confused by it rather than pushing on and seeing what the result was going to be.

Thanks for your time and assistance, much appreciated.
