Hi all - thank you for accepting my Registration to join your group (this is my first thread)
I have a fairly complex spreadsheet for scoring a Sporting Championship (pony club).
Each rider has been allocated a back number (say 1 through to 119) and their names, club and the horse they are competing on is on this table - I have named this range as "riders"
Each rider when competing has a time listed against their Back No (in their specific age group) and I use a the Rank formula to place them from fastest to slowest. This is great for placing the majority of events as an equal score is ok as the points are divided between them BUT for events where there is a final involved and we need to run off the top four riders and also place 5th & 6th, I need to be able to identify the riders separately and place them on a finals sheet.
I have attached an abbreviated form of the spreadsheet I have created (removed the kids names for privacy concerns)
I have used the formula sumif but as you can see in the finals section it adds the two back numbers together and then when the vlookup formula is used it place the last rider in the lists name. Hopefully there are no equals BUT as the scoring is done on the field using tablets/iPads (I upload the spreadsheets to google docs) I won't be out there to correct the equal placings
I do apologise now if I haven't explained myself clearly.
