A Possible Subtotal, Grouping or Filtering Question

Hi, I often have the need to output large lists of folder directories for others to review. The application that I generally use to do this (TreeSize) creates an output that is formatted in such a way that allows the user to review the data at various depths within the directory structure. Please see attached file for an example of this output.

You will see that to the left of Column A there are 5 box buttons allowing the user to select the depth of folder directory they wish to view. This looks similar to the output produced by using the Subtotal tool but appears to be acting more like a filter based on the ‘Dir Level’ in Column E.

I am trying to re-create this effect manually but cannot work out how this is achieved. Any help or pointers on how to create this would be most welcome.

    Thanks

    Hi rmac23

I have written a macro that will do as you ask, using grouping.

Be aware that it utilises columns up to column O and then deletes this temporary data (along with anything that might have been there!)

Let me know how you get on.
