how do i filter multiple tables of data whilst keeping headers in tact?

Hey all,

I hope you can help, i receive a lot of data in a particular form from an automated program, i then need to change tis and send it to another party. this is getting very tiresome and never comes in the same way. can any one assist in simplifying the process please.

This is an example of what i get, there is a lot of data, mostly to show that it is never the same complete layout. I have removed any data protection act data.

All i want to do is to remove most of the information. I need it to show every telephone and account number, and any items with a rental cost. removing anything else from the list. I tried a simple filter, however this also hides the telephone numbers within each group of data. The lists vary in size and may be smaller or larger than this one.

Again, i hope this is an easy one, but any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance
Alan

Re: Hopefully this is an easy one

Hi and welcome to the forum

Thanks for the title change

Perhaps it would be easier to offer suggestions if you provided a few sample answers?

1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Hi hunterdraygon
You show that you're using excel 2003 but you attach an .xlsx file. You must be using 2007 up ?? Update profile please
I think I worked out what you want to do. Try the attached file. On sheet 2 there's a button at the top. It's your file renamed with code.
cheers

Thank you philb, this looks fantastic.

I'm actually using 2010, could this be a reason for the bug in it?

It works a charm, thank you very much.

i know beggers cannot be choosers, however, it always opens up on a new spreadsheet and overwrites the original one. is there maybe any way that it can write onto sheet2? that way i can just edit sheet1 then press the button. also, would it be too much to reove the product/quantity headers row? please.

Again. Thank you

We're almost there then. It copied to sheet2 & then deleted sheet1 & sheet3. I've changed it so it doesn't delete any sheets, starts pasting from row 5 on sheet2 to allow for a decent sized button & it doesn't copy the product description rows now
Good luck
