    Number Format for Decimal Place

Hi, Subject should be "Number Format for Comma"

there is a thousand separator or we can use #.##0 format to use comma for every 3 digit. But in our country we use comma (,) in following way:

FOR 3-digit number > 1,000 (in word we say one thousand)
FOR 4-digit number > 10,000 (in word Ten thousand)
FOR 5-digit number > 1,10,000 (in word One Lakh Ten Thousand)
FOR 6-digit number > 11,10,000 (Eleven lakh ten thousand)
FOR 7-digit number > 1,11,10,000 (One crore eleven lakh ten thousand)
FOR 8-digit number > 11,11,10,000 (Eleven crore eleven lakh ten thousand)
FOR 9-digit number > 111,11,10,000 (One hundred eleven crore eleven lakh ten thousand)

Is there any way to place comma before 3 digit at first (from right side) and then before 2-digit after 3 digit upto 8 digit number. if it is 9 digit again before 3 digit.

    Thx in advance

So far as I can see (and this is odd given the size of the subcontinent's population) there is no quick fix for this. Below 1 lakh: use normal notation. Between a lakh and a crore use this in custom formatting,:
    #\,##\,###

    Above 1 crore, use this:
    #\,##\,##\,###

It's messy, but the alternative (to change regional settings) will affect all numbers in your sheet - and that may be a problem for you.

PS. I've been to Dhaka five or six times & I really miss the sights, sounds and colours of the Kawran Bazaar, which was right beside my hotel each time.

Wow! That's a great fun! From the bosom of my heart I thank you. Believe me I tried many times and thought it could not be possible. With a very little hope I posted this problem here and now got the solution! Bravo! Very happy to know that you were in Dhaka. Please make a call (01937400841) next time when you are in Dhaka. Thanks again
