Re: word search finder using conditional formatting

Short answer - I dont think this is possible with Conditional formatting. CF changes the formatting of a cell, based on specified rules
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Here you go. This works using your example grid.

Just highlight the 14 x 14 grid and press the button. It will search the word list from $A$3 down and also highlight the words it finds. Just to check I chnaged triangle to triangle1 and it doesn't highlight it. feel free to chnage the word list and the grid.

Make the grid as big as you want. Just select the 21 x 21 grid and highlight it before hitting the macro button. Just make sure your list of words starts in a3 and you're right to go.

If you try it and it doesn't work let me know

Oh and excuse the sloppy code. I cut and paste from another job I was working on.

Pejoi,

Try this slightly amended version that colour codes the words and letters for easier identification.

also has a reset button
