Creating patterns for auto fill to follow?

    Hi,

If this post belongs somewhere else please let me know and I'll move it.

I'm trying to create an auto fill pattern to match B4-M4 then repeat with B5-M5 and continue to 350. So for example, I'd like to manually enter "B4,C4,D4,E4,F4,G4,H4,I4,J4,K4,L4,M4,B5,C5,D5,E5,F5,G5,H5,I5,J5,K5,L5,M5" into column A and drag the auto fill box down until I've repeated the pattern to match all the way to M350. Is this possible? I tried just entering the pattern as I've posted and dragging the auto fill down, but it doesn't fill the numbers properly and ends up with a strange pattern.

    Thanks for any replies!

    Z

This will help if you using a older version of Excel http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/mic...phabetic-list/

if you have 2013 go to Options> Advanced> scroll down until you see edit custom lists and add this list.

Thanks, but this isn't exactly what I'm looking for. The list you wrote out will do A-Z(5). I need B-M(x) where x is a number, and once the sequences reached the letter M, x changes to a new number and the sequences starts over again with B. So as I said previously - B5,C5,D5...M5, B6,C6,D6...M6, B7,C7,D7...M7, B8,C8,D8...M8. All the way to about where "x" would be 350 while retaining the B-M lettering.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks!

    Hi zacam87/Mr_Bill,

Refer to the attached sheet, run the macro autofill and check the desired result in column A.
Please let me know if you have any concern.

Note: don't delete the list in column B

    Regards,
    Bhuvi
