Calculate only if cell is populated by a date

I want to calculate in D, the number of days between the date of payment (COLUMN C) and the date of application for the service (COLUMN A)
. However if there is no date in either Column A or Column B, then I want to formula to do nothing.

Similar formulas are required for E AND F.
What is recommended

Column D is for addresses.

Attempted IF(N="PAID",P-H,0) ie if column N says YES the client was paid, calculate the days between the payment and application. If Column N does not say Yes, DO NOTHING. but its is not working.

Your formula includes column letters (which should include O instead of P), but are missing the row number. To leave the value blank when the condition is false, use "" instead of 0. So, in P2 you will want to enter =IF(N2="PAID",O2-H2,"") and then copy this down to the other rows.

For Q, R and S, use the same formula but replace O2-H2 with the relevant calculation.

your formula was very helpful for me also. i have report which is auto generated and the date shows 2014-08-25 but the actual format is in general, but when i try to change it to date format its not getting changed.
