Determining the duty shift (DAY or NIGHT) from the Time-In & Time-Out given

Hello forum members, I am trying to create an attendance register in excel. I want to tabulate the employees' shifts from the Time-In and Time-Out given. Can anybody help me to get this.

I have uploaded a sample sheet.

Somebody have some suggestion to improve the system is also welcome.

Re: Determining the duty shift (DAY or NIGHT) from the Time-In & Time-Out given

Isn't this just a simple case of

if the In/Out Time lie with 8am-8pm or 8.30am-8.30pm then its Day shift else night?
    Maybe (untested)

    =IF(OR(AND(A1>TIME(8,0,0),A1<TIME(20,0,00)),AND(A1>TIME(8,30,0),A1<TIME(20,30,00))),"Day","Night")
    Regards

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

Thanks Special-K. I have the If-Else-If in my mind, but later I thought VLOOKUP will be more convenient. Thanks again for your valued ideas.
