Count and list dates that appears per person

Hello.

I'm currently trying to make my spreadsheets count dates for me.

In the attached example sheet, on the left I have my table that contains dates and names. On the right is what I would like to do automatically.

The right table shows the different dates for each person, and a count of how many times they occur.

I've had a go at pivot tables, but I can't get it to show like the right table.

Thats how I did it when I tried with pivot tables. Unfortunatley I'm told not to have it like that. Also the problem with that method is the amount of rows used will be too much.

Also there are some names which will appear on the left table, but will be on a different sheet on the right table.

I should have also mentioned, the names on the right table can be manually entered. These do not need to be automatically entered like what the pivot table does

Wow thanks. I've used the formula version. I was honestly thinking it wasn't possible.

I've entered and modified the ranges for my full spreadsheet and it seems to be working fine.

Now starts the proccess of trying to understand just how it works :P
