SUMIF Formula Not Working When Referencing Another Excel Workbook

All,

I have a sumif formula referencing another workbook to get the figures out of it. It does not work with the other workbook with the figures in the other workbook. If I type the figures on top of the other figures in the other workbook, the formula starts working. It will not work with the original figures though. I do not understany why I have to type the same figures on top of the other figures for my formula to pick up everything. That is just ridiculous. Anyone have any clues on the reason for this? - SEOT

Can you give an example of the formula you are using?

Do you have formula calculation set to be automatic?

What version of Excel are you using?

Have you checked your data links? try 'Pointing to a different workbook' and linking it back to the original one (sometimes they get lost).

I figured it out. The workbook had the numbers in text format, and I just converted them out of the text format. The format was not working with the formula. It works now. Thanks for trying to help me duffry!! -- SEOT
