    My Marksheet Ranks

    I Have a marksheet bearing student's name and marks as data

    Now what i have done is

    I used =sum formula for total
    then =rank formula for rank
    after that sorted the data I columnwise

    But now if again i add a student's name and marks then again i have to sort the data for getting their rankwise place

    so i want excel magic in such a way that if i enter other students' names their names marks total everything must be displayed in the row as per their rank

    plz help me

    Change your worksheet to an .xlsm type
    Enter this vba in the worksheet change event for the sheet.
    Do not put it in a standard module

    This is my take on a solution for you.

    The ranking column formula has been modified to take care of tied scores. I also used Index, Match, Small to determine the sort order.
