    Saving cell formatting

    Hi all,

I need to save a column with custom formatting (mm/dd/yyyy), but every time I close and reopen the document, it forgets the formatting I've assigned and my data goes back to the standard formatting (mm/dd/yy). I have a mac if that helps. What should I do?

    Thanks,
    Sarah

Is the data refreshed when you open the workbook?

What do you mean by refreshed? I forgot to mention I save it as .CSV. Could that have something to do with it?

    Thanks,
    Sarah

    Re: Saving cell formatting

I wondered if the data was from a database or web query.

Could that have something to do with it?
Oh yes. A .csv file is a simple text file and does not contain any formatting.

Ok thanks. I suppose I will work in the Excel version until I'm ready to export to .CSV. Thank you!!
