how do I disable or remove hyper links in a text box? If I right click, I can see the option to add a hyperlink, but not to disable.

It would help if you included more information. For example, when I right click on a hyperlink this is what I see

What version of excel do you use? I use Office 2010
I see, you're talking about a text box. You should be able to just delete the text box or backspace over the hyperlink to delete it
I have never been able to make a hyperlink in a text box be anything but text. If this is actually your case, just delete the text. If however you have managed to make the whole text box a hyperlink (I have done this by mistake) right click the text box, select Hyperlink and then delete the address.
