    Formula that requiresresult of part of formula to help answer the question

    Hi

    Trying to fathom the following and put into to a formula I can use in excel

    8% of 2106 (where 2106 was G4) = x

    45% of x

    x x 3.50 (where 3.50 was A8)

    Hi and welcome to the forum!

    Perhaps it would clarify things if you didn't use, as appears to be the case, the same symbol to represent three entirely different meanings?

    Is "x" used here as:

    1) A reference to the result of a formula?
    2) The multiplication symbol?
    3) A goodbye kiss?
    4) All of the above?
