Current year date doesn't come up

On my budget worksheets, I have a date column where I enter a date such as "3/14/15" but when I do that, Excel shows "3/14/1915". Why does it not recognize 2015 as the year if I enter just "15"? I have Excel 2010.

This is a quote from XL2003 help file, may need to check Excel version you use

For Microsoft Windows 2000 or later

If you are using Microsoft Windows 2000 or later, the Regional Options in Windows Control Panel controls how Excel interprets two-digit years

Re: Current year date doesn't come up

Thanks for the replies. I did some hunting around as M E Good suggested and found that the date for a 2-digit number just went to 2014 so I changed that so it showed "Between 1945 and 2030". All works well now. :-)

    Hi PennyPA,

Reset your computer system clock to the correct year. I'd bet it is using the current year, as set in your computer system. Hope that is a good guess.

What does Excel do with =Today()? Does it say 2015?
