    Clock Pie Chart

Hi, I have been tasked trying to create a Pie Chart that that has products with quantity.
I would have 6 products and the qty for each product would vary.

I have been asked if a certain product was made at lets say 9pm (the qty was 6000 and it took 2.5 hrs, the next product would start at 11:30 pm), could the products be shown into a Pie chart so the chart has the time built on the outside and it shows the products with Qty graphed into the pie.

I am not clued up how to do this if it is possible so was hoping someone out there would have some knowledge to help me.

Many thanks for taking your time reading

    Re: Clock Pie Chart

    Hi Pugg,

How does this look? Literal Pie Chart.xls

The trickiest part is the rotation of the slices. You have to rotate the angle of the first slice (located in the Series Options). In my example, since Apple Pie starts at 9am, I have to change the angle to 270 degrees (3/4 rotation, since 9am is 3/4 around the clock).

I did it manually, but this could be done with a little VBA coding.

Speaking of clocks... one other thing to consider... a clock is only 12 hours... but a day is 24 hours... how do you want to represent the second half of the day with only 1 clock? My suggestion is that you have 2 clocks... one for AM, the other for PM... anyway, think it over and see if you have something else in mind...

Lastly, I put the "extra time" as a filler to complete the 12 hours in half the day... remember, a pie chart is to be seen as a whole. What I mean by that is for our hours to be in ratio of an actual clock, the total number of hours must be 12 hours. If the hours are less than 12 hours, then the pie will slice the pieces in a different ratio of a clock. Hope that makes sense. Also, over 12 hours can be a problem and my 2 clock solution might be an idea.

Anyway, hope this is good start.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
