I have a CSV with lines like this :
2015-03-18 17:05:00 , 9002, 1305.71296296
I have a chart built from a selection of the data. The date column (#1) is excel-formatted to suit the input.
However the time axis comes up as either a series of meaningless incremental data points or as a series of the same date/time i.e. 12:00:00 AM.
Any ideas?
It is hard to tell without the actual Excel file. My first guess would be that Excel is not correctly identifying or interpreting the date/time format. Check the cells containing those values to see if they contain "text" or "number"? If apply a number format of "general" to the date/time cells, do you see a reasonable serial number or do you still see the date/time?
2nd guess would be that Excel has not actually applied the date/time serial to the x axis. Go into the Select data dialog and see what Excel is using for the horizontal/category axis.
