    3 Dimensions WorkSheet

Hi and I hope the Title is describing my Question.

I need to create an Excel that willl be used to enter Data for my Project in School, as follows:

    There are 8 People
For each Person there are 8 Questionnaires
For each Questionnaire, there are 8 Parameters, each geting a Number from 1 to 7

Will I have to use a Pivot Table? Any ideas how to create such an Excel?

    Thanks for any info!

One way to do this is attached. Think of each answer as being a record. It is associated with a person, a questionnaire, and a parameter. There are 512 records. Then you can use a pivot table for analysis. You don't say what kind of analysis you need to do so I don't know what kind of pivot table you need, but here's an example.

In this example, there is a column for each questionnaire. I assume you meant you have 8 different questionnaires, not the same one repeated 8 times, for each person. There is a row for each Parameter, 1-8. Under each of those are subrows for each possible Number 1-8. The numbers inside the grid is how many times each Number appears for each Parameter on each Questionnaire.

    Thanks for your Reply !

It starts to make sense. I wonder why there are empty Cells inside the Pivot Table?

What I need to show on the Pivot Table is the Average value of a Parameter per Person per Questionnaire. Is it possible?

    Thanks again,

    Elad

Access the Pivot Table Field List, Sum Values (on the bottom right), click on the downward delta, Value Field Settings, select average of value.

A blank means that for that parameter, for that questionnaire, there are no answers for any people with that particular number. In my example, for Questionnaire #3, parameter 1, nobody answered 1.

I am not sure what "Average value of a Parameter per Person per Questionnaire". Each parameter occurs only once on each questionnaire for each person. Do you mean the average value of all parameters per person per questionnaire? Or the average value of a parameter for all questionnaires per person?

This example shows the average value of all parameters per person per questionnaire.
