How to password protect only certain cells within a sheet

    Hi,

I am creating a spreadsheet for teachers to use to track the levels that children are achieving for different curricular areas.

Within the sheet titled 'Maths Detailed' is there a way that I can lock the cells so that only the P1 teacher can change the cells for P1 and only the P2 teacher can change the cells for P2 etc.

I'm thinking each teacher would have a password to access their cells but do not know if this is possible? I am aware that I can password protect the whole sheet but not sure if I can password protect individual cells?

    Any ideas?

Try using the Review tab and selecting Allow Users to Edit Ranges

You have to select ranges, provide passwords and add user(s) in the Permissions.

Not something I've ever used (in anger) so you'll have to play with the fine detail.
