Change the font color of a specific character in a cell

HI Experts,

Is there a way to find a specific character in a pivot table cell (ex. "-") and change its font color. I'm only referring to changing that specific character and not the entire value in the cell.

I hope I can use conditional formatting and not resort to VBA.

Thanks for the link; however, I need to modify it to find the "-" in the string then change its color based on the background color of the cell
