    Hyperlink Screentip not appearing properly

    Note: My sheet is protected.

So I have some circle shapes with hyperlinks attached to them but they only have the screentip. So when I mouseover the shape the screentip appears.

But under my shapes I have an image (which I have locked). So when I do mouseover the shapes the screentip does not appear directly by the shape due to the image "blocking" it.

It works fine when the sheet is not locked.

So a work around to either change where the screentip appears or another way to lock the image would be good

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi PlopNofear,

This seems to be one of those cases where a sample workbook is required for you to get an optimal response.

Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

    Hi,

But under my shapes I have an image (which I have locked). So when I do mouseover the shapes the screentip does not appear directly by the shape due to the image "blocking" it.
I did not see this. I saw the Text immediately underneath the 'Hover Over Me' Box.

    ---------------------------------

I am able to place text wherever you want, but it is somewhat labor intensive. If you have several 'Hover' shapes the task can be automated.

    My solution is as follows:
    a. Create a Shape that looks like 'ScreenTip Text' and place it wherever you want.
    b. Create a Transparent 'Active X' Label over the 'Hover Over Me' Box slightly smaller that the 'Hover Box' dimensions. The 'Active X' Label could replace the 'Hover Over Me' Box, but would probably take some VBA to format it to look like you want.
    c. Create a 2nd Transparent 'Active X' Label over the 'Hover Over Me' Box slightly larger that the 'Hover Box' dimensions.

The 'Active X' labels use MouseOver VBA to display or hide the 'Pseudo Screen Tip' text.

    -----------------------------
There are detailed instructions on 'Sheet2' of the attached sample file.

This is not an optimum solution, especially since 'Active X' can tend to be unstable.
