selecting from a drop down menu and automatically filling data in the next column

Is there a way to have a drop down menu in column a, and when you select a value, have it automatically populate a pre-selected value in column b?

We have different products that run on the same machine, but they run at different rates, so I want to be able to select the product (col a) and have the rate automatically populate in col b, which will then generate the appropriate numbers in the rest of the columns.

If it is only 1 pre-selected value in column b, you can use Vlookup for that.

make a table with the related values (of A and B).

in column B use Vlookup to find the value of column A in the (already made) table.
