Hello.
I've done lots of research and I am not sure if Excel is actually designed to do this at all. I want my screentip, to perform a simple referencing function and display the result. I want the screentip to act like a cell.
In worksheet A, I have a hyperlink from cell D1 to cell D1 in worksheet B. (same workbook)
When I click Worksheet A, D1, as expected, goes to worksheet B, D1.
Within worksheet A, the screentip shown when hovering over the cell, describes the location of the destination cell. I want the screentip to display the CONTENTS of the destination cell. In fact, I want the screentip to display the CONTENTS of the two ADJACENT cells also.
As you might imagine, putting the standard referencing formula in the screentip simply displays the formula: e.g: =('worksheetB'!D1)
I don't just want to edit the screentip text with the destination data, as there are many cells I want to apply this to. More importantly, the destination cells, and thus the text displayed, will be changed by basic Excel users from time to time. I want to leave this workbook with the users and have it perform everything for them automatically.
Does anyone know if we can get the sreentip to act like a cell and perform a function? And if so, how? (obviously) Or are there any other bright ideas out there?
Thanks and regards.
Sean.
