    master formula

I have a file that has many tabs or sheets which are exactly alike. These sheets contain formulas within some of the cells.

When I decided to modify a specific formula, I end up having to change it on each sheet. Is there a way to create a "master sheet" that all the other sheets and corresponding cells look to.

This way, when I change a formula on the master tab, all the tabs and specific cells will change as well.

    thankyou

There are some shortcuts to making global changes. For example one way you could do it is to use find and replace and under options expand it from within sheet to within workbook. Another is you can right click on a sheet then use select all sheets and if the formula is in a specific location in each sheet - if you change it on the sheet you are on it will change it on all the other sheets too. There are likely other ways too but offhand I can't think of any.

    Re: master formula

You can group a number of sheets together, and then any action you carry out on any one of those sheets will be reflected on all the other grouped sheets.

To group some sheets together, select the first sheet tab, hold down the CTRL key and click on the other sheet tabs that you want to include within the group, and then release the CTRL key (notice that the colour of the grouped tabs will have changed slightly). Change your formulae in one of the sheets, and then Ungroup the sheets - right-click on the sheet tab and select Ungroup sheets, or you can just click on a sheet tab which is not included within the group.

    Hope this helps.

    thankyou for your replies, unfortunately

find & replace wont work, as cell numbers are different in each cell (only majority of the calculation is the same)

selecting all sheets wont work as the cells are a1:zzz999 so alot of cells.

    Re: master formula

Further to this post, i have had a thought, There is a formula we can use to combine the values of 2 cells and display them in 1 cell:
    Reference: https://support.office.com/en-in/art...1-203320aefdce

I wounder is there a way to take the formulas from 2 cells and combine them into 1 cell which then does the calculation?
