But date order unevenly. i want date order wise.please help me.file attached.

Dear Vandini,

please find a bottom up solution attached. It is built up step by step following the red arrows after you have ungrouped columns and rows in the sheet ‘>>> Transformation (C) HeL_2.0’. Then it appears a bit unhandy. However, in the end it is a solution, 100% dynamic... and the dates are set in an ascending order, too.

Surely you can shorten it using more nested formulae. I did not do so, in order to provide an approach that is as much readable as possible.

I have built it upon your revised example, X-checked it with the help of manually set filters and doubt that the sheet “Required Format_2.0!” is totally correct according to your requirements. In addition to your highlighted figures, D3:E3, I think, e.g. that D6 and E8 are wrong, too, isn’t it?!

See the attached file, sorry for getting back so late!

You just have to SORT the dates A->Z (Oldest to Newest) & the same formula will do the rest.

Dear Cbatridy and Vandini,

I really like the straight forward approach, even though it is pretty much nested and hard to read for those without that much experience! Very nice and much more convenient, once it is set up than mine !!

However, I understood the "problem" of this thread, that just those dates should be called up, meaning illustrated in the "required format" that have an "In date" but not an "out date", isn't it?
@ Vandini: please provide clarification.

... if so, the “Cbatrody-approach” provides some dates incorrectly, i.e. HYUNDAI / HONDA and 4/9/2015 for example.

This is super brilliant! Although this wasn’t initially my thread I love your solution for Vandins’s issue and for sure, from now on, I will start making friends with matrix formulae! In general I am more in favor of the little steps, since then I know always 100% what is going on in each and every step towards the final output. However it is pretty **** to "sum it up" - my single steps to just one!!
And the output does match – perfect!!!

In a nutshell: There are 2 approaches and one and the same solution >> this thread can be marked as solved, isn’t it?

Yes, array formulas can perform calculations in one go that you can't do by using non-array formulas.
