Terminology in Industry terms - to be referred to a correct term in excel

    Dear All.

I want to know whether we can check each & every word/sentence of one cell to another cell (i.e., lookup of partial words rather than complete word) & has to retrieve the result if it matches upto 80% - 90%. As I dont know the terminology that they use in their excel from which I have to retrieve the result.

Just an ex: If I've Model "12mm" in my sheet and it is mentioned as "12 mm", If suppose I've model as Lustre Brown in my sheet & it is mentioned as L/Brown in their sheet etc.

If it is formula then it sounds good to me, else it is VB I should depend on others as even requirement also keep on changing time to time

As of now, I dont have excel prepared with me and I came to know about this requirement today morning. I just got stuck with this doubt

    Regards

Apologies, Im not quite understanding, are you looking for code to run through cells looking for particular terms and converting them to a recognised one?

ie in your example above, if cell A1 contained Lustre Brown are you looking to automatically convert that to L/Brown?

Can you provide a quick example of a few more terms and their conversions?

You could create a custom dictionary to be used in Excel which would likely be easier to create than using a formula to dissect a phrase to then lookup every word for correctness.

Auto correct could also be used if the list of words to be corrected is not very long.
